Softball Game Preview: Eldorado Golden Eagles vs. Cibola Cougars

Eldorado hasn't had much luck against Cibola recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Eldorado Golden Eagles will face off against the Cibola Cougars at 3:30 p.m.

Eldorado came up short against Albuquerque on Tuesday, falling 14-8. The loss was the Golden Eagles' first of the season.

Alyssa Martinez and Mya Zamora stepped up to the plate in a big way. Martinez scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Zamora scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4. Gigi Medina-Vigil was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Cibola put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Sandia 14-2.

Having lost for the first time this season, Eldorado fell to 2-1. As for Cibola, their win bumped their record up to 3-0.

Eldorado came up short against Cibola when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 14-9. Can Eldorado avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
