Recap: University Bulldogs vs. Rifle Bears
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the University Bulldogs, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They fell 35-28 to Rifle on Saturday. University's loss signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.
Despite the defeat, University had strong showings from Brevon Doss, who gained 85 total yards and three touchdowns, and Coel Croissant, who rushed for 101 yards.
It was another big night for Logan Gross, who rushed for 223 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.6 yards per carry. Gross really tore up the turf during one magnificent 70-yard run.
University's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Rifle, they pushed their record up to 10-1 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home.
University does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Rifle will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Eaton at 1:00 p.m. Hopefully Eaton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up four on Saturday.
