Football Recap: Santa Ynez Extends Winning Streak to Three

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Santa Ynez). Everything went their way against the Pioneer Valley Panthers on Saturday as they made off with a 26-6 win. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Pirates' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 171st, while the Panthers are ranked 653rd).

The victory (which was Santa Ynez's third in a row) raised their record to 3-1. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 4.0 points on average over those games. As for Pioneer Valley, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Santa Ynez has already played their next matchup, a 19-0 victory against Buena on the 13th. As for Pioneer Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 1-1 tie against Madera South on the 13th.
