Recap: Dell City Cougars vs. Marfa Shorthorns
The Dell City Cougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They took a hard 55-38 fall against Marfa. Dell City has not had much luck with Marfa recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite the loss, Dell City had strong showings from Isaac Estrada, who scored ten points along with three steals, and Reyes Espinoza, who scored 11 points along with three steals. Espinoza is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Josh Rector, who scored five points.
Dell City has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Marfa, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-10.
Dell City will head out on the road to challenge Fort Davis at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Fort Davis is on a four-game streak of home losses, Dell City a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. Marfa will take on Balmorhea at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Texas (Balmorhea is ranked 1195th, while Marfa is ranked 1205th).
