Volleyball Recap: Sultana Takes a Loss

Sultana was the 3-0 winner over Western Christian when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Sultans fell 3-1 to the Fighting Lancers on Thursday.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 13-25, 25-13, 25-13.

Brea Whittemore paced Sultana's offense, picking up 15 kills. Whittemore got some help from Leila Pele and her 19 assists.

Sultana's defeat dropped their record down to 11-4. As for Western Christian, they pushed their record up to 17-3 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.

Sultana and Western Christian should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Sultans will face off against Oak Hills at 5:15 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (87 vs. 880). Meanwhile, Western Christian (ranked 240th) will meet Capistrano Valley Christian (ranked 557th) at 5:00 p.m. on the 23rd.
