Basketball Recap: Southridge Drops Highest Score of Season Against Palmetto

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Southridge). They claimed a resounding 100-10 win over the Palmetto Panthers. The Spartans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 24 points or more this season.

Southridge found their leader in sophomore Naya Hardisson, who dropped a double-double on 32 points and 12 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hardisson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Dianka Hardisson, who went 10 of 14 on her way to 22 points along with five assists and five rebounds.

Southridge was working as a unit and finished the game with 29 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Southridge is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.8 points per game. As for Palmetto, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-5.

Southridge and Palmetto could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. Southridge (ranked 38th) will meet River Ridge (ranked first) at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Palmetto will square off against Palmer Trinity at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday down 174 places (261 vs. 87).
