Baseball Recap: Dennis-Yarmouth Regional's Win Ends Three-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Dennis-Yarmouth Regional hadn't done well against Barnstable recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Dolphins walked away with an 8-3 victory over the Red Hawks. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 17-7 back in April.

Gavin Desley made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Desley was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March.

Desley wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Griffin Endres, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. That's the most RBI Endres has posted since back in March. Lincoln Slade was another, earning two RBI, one run, and one stolen base.

Dennis-Yarmouth Regional's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-3. As for Barnstable, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8-1 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dennis-Yarmouth Regional will square off against Marshfield at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Barnstable, they will challenge New Bedford at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
