Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Slidell walked away with it. They walked away with an 8-4 win over the Northwood Falcons on Tuesday. The victory was familiar territory for the Tigers, who have now won six matches in a row.

Chyan Hurt made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Hurt was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs and eight RBI while going 2-for-4.

Hurt wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Xavier Paul, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs.

Slidell's win bumped their record up to 27-9. As for Northwood, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 31-7.

Coming up, Slidell will square off against Sam Houston on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Tigers 2.6, the Broncos 1.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. Northwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
