Basketball Recap: Conant Wins Going Away Against Wheeling

It was a proper cat-fight when Conant challenged Wheeling on Tuesday. The Conant Cougars put the hurt on the Wheeling Wildcats with a sharp 50-26 win. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 132nd, while the Wildcats are ranked 337th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Conant's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Wheeling, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season.

Conant will head out to challenge Fremd at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Fremd will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Conant surely won't give up without a fight.
