Northeast Academy's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Pungo Christian Academy Raiders. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since August 16th.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (105-97) Northeast Academy actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-23, 15-25, 17-25, 15-10.

Chloe Long paced Northeast Academy's offense, picking up three kills. Long really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with four. Addison Newsome controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Northeast Academy's victory ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-8. As for Pungo Christian Academy, they dropped their record down to 2-4 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northeast Academy will take on Columbia at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Pungo Christian Academy, they will square off against Halifax Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
