Softball Recap: Indian Valley Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Indian Valley can now relate to. They fell just short of the Morgan Raiders by a score of 2-0 on Saturday. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Braves were not able to get on the board.

Shelby Gossett spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits.

At the plate, Indian Valley saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Natalie Musser, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base. Musser is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

Indian Valley's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-11. As for Morgan, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-9.

Indian Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Morgan, they will square off against Hillsboro at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Indians will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something the Raiders surely won't give up without a fight.
