Baseball Game Preview: Biglerville Canners vs. West Perry Mustangs

The Biglerville Canners will head out to face off against the West Perry Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Biglerville has given up an average of 6.8 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Biglerville came up short against Pequea Valley on Wednesday, falling 13-7.

Gavin Althoff was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double. He has become a key player for Biglerville: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-10 otherwise. Brayden Pearce also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, West Perry fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Northern York on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Polar Bears by a score of 5-4. The Mustangs just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.

Biglerville's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for West Perry, their loss dropped their record down to 10-8.
