Baseball Recap: Cesar Chavez Wins Going Away Against Maryvale

Cesar Chavez had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 17-run drubbing they dealt Maryvale on Tuesday. Cesar Chavez was the clear victor by a 20-3 margin over Maryvale. The Champions not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since February 26th.

Zade Munoz was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). Cesar Chavez is undefeated when Munoz allowsthree or fewer earned runs, but 3-5 otherwise. Munoz was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Eddie Pedroza was incredible, firing off three runs, three doubles, and one triple while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Adolfo Pacheco, who scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Cesar Chavez kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Cesar Chavez is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. Maryvale is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.
