Basketball Recap: Bethel Academy Drops Highest Score of Season Against New Hope Academy National

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bethel Academy). They put the hurt on the New Hope Academy National Tigers with a sharp 84-62 win on Saturday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Blazers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Despite the loss, New Hope Academy National still got an impressive performance from Haki Muhammed II, who went 13 of 22 on his way to 31 points. The match was Muhammed II's tenth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Demachae McDowell, who posted nine points.

Bethel Academy's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for New Hope Academy National, they now have a losing record at 5-6.

Bethel Academy and Evergreen Christian will compete for holiday cheer at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. New Hope Academy National has already played their next game, a 68-61 victory against Shining Star Sports Academy on the 14th.
