Basketball Recap: Ada-Borup Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

On Tuesday, the Ada-Borup Cougars came up short against the Thompson Tommies and fell 60-51. The contest marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Ada-Borup's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Austin McCraven, who went 6 for 14 en route to 14 points along with six boards and three steals. McCraven is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Anders Tinjum, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 14 points and five rebounds.

Thompson got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Gavin Krogstad out in front who went 10 for 20 en route to 23 points. Another player making a difference was Karter Peterson, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 10 points and six boards.

Ada-Borup's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 10-5. As for Thompson, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season.

Ada-Borup didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 70-67 victory against Mahnomen/Waubun on the 23rd. Thompson has also already played their next contest (against Devils Lake), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
