Basketball Recap: Latta Comes Up Short

On Thursday, the Latta Panthers didn't have quite enough to beat the Preston Pirates and fell 40-38. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 215th, while the Pirates are ranked 44th).

Latta now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Preston, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.

Latta will welcome Dale at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Dale's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven contests. Preston has already played their next game, a 49-37 win against Hartshorne on the 24th.
