Basketball Recap: Yuma Takes a Loss

Yuma and Centauri squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Yuma had to settle for second. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 41-40 to the Centauri Falcons. The Outlaws' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Yuma lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Brody Sheffield, who posted 19 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The matchup was his sixth in a row with at least 19 points. Jonathan Thomson was another key player, putting up six points in addition to 12 boards and three steals.

Yuma's defeat dropped their record down to 20-6. As for Centauri, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 26-0.

Yuma does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Centauri, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 49-31 loss against Resurrection Christian on the 14th.
