Soccer Recap: Holmes Comes Up Short

Holmes lost against Taft back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Holmes Huskies lost 3-0 to the Taft Raiders. While losing is never fun, the Huskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 419th, while the Raiders are ranked 79th).

Holmes' loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Taft, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-4.

Looking ahead, Holmes will venture away from home to challenge Warren at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Warren's defense has only allowed 0.3 goals per game this season, so Holmes' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Taft, they will challenge Stevens at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Taft's favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home while Stevens has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
