Softball Recap: Goddard Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Goddard can now relate to. They fell just short of the St. Pius X Sartans by a score of 4-2 on Thursday. The Rockets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Juliet Gallegos put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over six innings while giving up four earned runs off five hits. Gallegos was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Goddard's loss dropped their record down to 15-14. As for St. Pius X, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-14.

Goddard does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. Pius X, they will challenge Lovington at 9:00 a.m. on Friday. The Wildcats' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so the Sartans' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
