Football Game Preview: Suring Eagles vs. Gibraltar Vikings

The Suring Eagles will challenge the Gibraltar Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Suring is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Wisconsin's top teams: Lena/Aquinas, who was ranked first at the time (Suring was ranked 18th). The Eagles were outmatched by the Titians and fell 36-6. The Eagles have struggled against the Titians recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Gibraltar). They claimed a resounding 52-14 win over Gillett. With the Vikings ahead 33-8 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

The victory snapped Gibraltar's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-4 record. As for Suring, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-2.

Everything came up roses for Suring against Gibraltar in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 42-6 win. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Vikings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
