Basketball Recap: Kiera Shannon Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Hale

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Higbee, Keytesville was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They managed a 40-35 win over the Hale Cardinals. This was a revenge game for the Tigers: when they faced off against the Cardinals back in December of 2024, they had to take a 59-34 defeat.

Keytesville's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kiera Shannon, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 14 boards. Shannon is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down 11 or more in the last three games she's played. Harlee Bruce was another key player, putting up 18 points.

Keytesville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in five consecutive games.

Keytesville's win bumped their record up to 2-16. As for Hale, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.
