The Braves simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Friars 42-0. Considering the Braves have won seven contests by more than 28 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

St. John Bosco's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Koa Malau'ulu led the charge by throwing for 229 yards and three TDs, while also punching in one rushing score. Malau'ulu is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in each of the last five games he's played. Maliq Allen was another key player, gaining 135 total yards and a touchdown.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something St. John Bosco proved: they limited Servite to a paltry 2.6 yards per carry. While one picked up at least five total tackles, Matthew Muasau stood above the rest. He forced one fumble, made five total tackles (1.0 for loss), and defended one pass. St. John Bosco's ground attack was stronger, having averaged 5.3.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mater Dei). They claimed a resounding 40-7 win over JSerra Catholic. With that victory, the Monarchs brought their scoring average up to 26.2 points per game.
St. John Bosco better keep an eye on Justin Lewis. He was instrumental in Mater Dei's win, rushing for 64 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Lewis a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ryan Hopkins, who threw for 276 yards on 23 of 36 attempts.
Mater Dei's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB four times. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece.
Mater Dei's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for St. John Bosco, their victory bumped their record up to 9-0.
St. John Bosco came up short against Mater Dei in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, falling 31-24. Thankfully for the Braves, Jordon Davison (who rushed for 196 yards and three scores) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
