Penn faced Cathedral in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Kingsmen walked away with a 7-3 win over the Fighting Irish. The victory was familiar territory for the Kingsmen, who have now won seven games in a row.

Caitlyn Denny spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Phoebe Wood was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Carson Petty, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Penn's win bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Cathedral, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-3-1 record.

Penn wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 13-6 victory against Carmel on the 25th. As for Cathedral, they have also already played their next matchup, a 6-5 win against Avon on the 25th.
