Soccer Recap: York Comes Up Short

After flying high against Aurora on Thursday, York came back down to earth. The Dukes fell just short of the Lexington Minutemen by a score of 3-2 on Monday. York were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced Lexington earlier this season, when they won 2-2.

Lauryn Mattox and Ellie Reynolds scored both of York's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 21 goals.

York moved to 6-4 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Lexington, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-5.

York wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next game, a 0-0 defeat against Seward on the 21st. As for Lexington, they have also already played their next match, a 7-1 loss against Northwest on the 21st.
