Cathedral City came tearing into Thursday's match with four straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Banning Broncos. The Lions have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Broncos, too.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-17, 23-25, 25-16.

Despite the defeat, Banning saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Anthony Yang had 11 digs and five aces.

Cathedral City's victory bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Banning, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.

Cathedral City wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Xavier Prep on the 1st. As for Banning, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Norte Vista on the 28th.
