Baseball Game Preview: Nelson vs. Idaho Falls Tigers

Nelson will be taking part in a tournament against the Idaho Falls Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Monday, Nelson got the win against Doherty by a conclusive 12-3.

Meanwhile, Idaho Falls got themselves on the board against Baker on Monday, but Baker never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 13-0 margin over the Bulldogs. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Tigers' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Logan Whiting looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Idaho Falls got a massive performance out of Will Thompson, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave Thompson a new career-high. Nelson Kunz was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Idaho Falls kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Idaho Falls' record now sits at 2-4. As for Nelson, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
