Volleyball Recap: Emmi Coppa Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Cary Academy

After losing to Cary Academy the last time they met, Cannon decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Cougars came out on top against the Chargers by a score of 3-1 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cougars.

The final score came out to 25-14, 25-27, 25-13, 25-22.

Cannon's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Emmi Coppa, who had 12 digs and four assists. That's the most assists Coppa has posted since back in October of 2024.

Cannon was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 20 aces. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their ace total in five consecutive games.

Cannon's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Cary Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Looking ahead, Cannon will square off against Ravenscroft at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Cary Academy, they will face off against Charlotte Christian at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
