Basketball Recap: Charlton County's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Charlton County extended their winning streak to four games thanks to a huge performance from Rihanna Battle. The Charlton County Indians walked away with a 67-55 victory over the Hilliard Red Flashes on Saturday thanks in part to Battle, who posted 32 points in addition to seven boards and five assists. Those 32 points gave her a new career-high.

Another player making a difference was Christiona.?? Farmer, who earned 20 points and eight rebounds. Her evening made it 17 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Despite the loss, Hilliard had strong showings from Molly Dean, who went 7 for 15 on her way to 19 points and four steals, and Alyssa Hallman, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Reah Saunders, who had six points along with five assists and four steals.

Charlton County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.5 points per game. As for Hilliard, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 13-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Charlton County will head out to take on Lanier County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hilliard, they will venture away from home to challenge Fernandina Beach at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hilliard is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.5 points per game this season.
