Baseball Recap: Bountiful Makes It Seven in a Row at Home

Bountiful waltzed into their matchup on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Bonneville Lakers get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. That ten run margin sets a new team best for the RedHawks this season.

The result came thanks to Corey Erickson's shutout, as he gave up just a hit. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Bountiful is 4-2 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 7-8 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Kyson Burningham and Jackson Kyhl did most of the damage at the plate: Burningham went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI, while Kyhl went 1-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those two doubles gave Burningham a new career-high. Jacob Stapley was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Bountiful was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Bountiful's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-10. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 2.86 runs across that stretch. As for Bonneville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season.
