Basketball Recap: Dominic Bell's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Lawrence Upper over St. Martin De Porres

Fans were treated to a Battle of the Lions on Friday. The Lawrence Upper Lions wound up with the same score they had in their last game (53-43), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against St. Martin de Porres this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 70-34 back in January.

Several Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dominic Bell, who posted 17 points. The game was Bell's eighth in a row with at least 17 points. Jordan Jackson was another key player, putting up ten points.

Lawrence Upper's defeat dropped their record down to 11-5. As for St. Martin de Porres, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-8.

Lawrence Upper does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. Martin de Porres, they will head out to take on Poland Seminary at 7:00 p.m. on February 22nd. The timing is sure in Poland Seminary's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while St. Martin de Porres has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
