Softball Game Preview: Riverside Warriors vs. Spring Valley Timberwolves

Riverside hasn't had much luck against Spring Valley recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Warriors will take on the Timberwolves in a tournament on Wednesday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Riverside blew Sherman out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Sherman got their revenge. The Warriors fell just short of the Tide by a score of 4-2.

Meanwhile, Spring Valley fell victim to Lincoln County and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers.

Spring Valley's loss dropped their record down to 10-19. As for Riverside, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-8.

Spring Valley's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Riverside has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .440. It's a different story for Spring Valley, though, as they've only averaged .337. Will they be able to contain Riverside's hitters?

Riverside couldn't quite get it done against Spring Valley when the teams last played back in March as they fell 8-4. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
