Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Poplar Bluff

Poplar Bluff entered their tilt with Cooter on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Wildcats 12-2. That's more bragging rights for the Mules, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Dylan Hall was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Hall was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other pitching news, Drew Cooper looked comfortable as he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

Back at the plate, Kade Huffman was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandt Bell, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two triples and two runs.

Poplar Bluff hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in five consecutive contests.

Poplar Bluff's victory bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Cooter, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Poplar Bluff will be playing at home against Park Hill at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Cooter, they will head out on the road to square off against Holcomb at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
