Football Recap: Cascade Extends Road Winning Streak to Eight

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Cascade walked away with it. They managed a 37-33 win over the Lawrenceburg Tigers on Friday. Give the Cadets' offense some serious credit: that high-scoring performance was actually the fewest points they've scored all season.

Cascade's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Toby Savini, who rushed for 152 yards and two TDs on only 13 carries. Those 152 rushing yards gave Savini a new career-high. Lucas Farmer did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 80 receiving yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Cascade was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 333 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 250 rushing yards in five consecutive games.

Cascade's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-0. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.8 points over those games. As for Lawrenceburg, they moved to 10-2 with that loss, which also ended their ten-game winning streak.

Coming up, Cascade will challenge Gibson Southern at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Brady Trebley and Zach Foster. Lawrenceburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
