Baseball Recap: Starmount Has No Trouble Against Elkin

Starmount not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since February 26th. They put the hurt on the Elkin Buckin' Elks with a sharp 15-5 win. The victory continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Buckin' Elks: they've now won four in a row.

Hayden Royal tossed a big game, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits (and only one walk). Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

Starmount's win bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Elkin, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11.

Coming up, Starmount is taking a road trip to square off against East Surry at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cardinals will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Rams surely won't give up without a fight. As for Elkin, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Starmount at 7:00 p.m.
