Baseball Recap: Logan Has No Trouble Against Non Varsity Opponent

Logan barely beat Non Varsity Opponent the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Logan was the clear victor by a 16-3 margin over Non Varsity Opponent on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Longhorns in their matchups with Non Varsity Opponent: they've now won five in a row.

Aydin Kotara made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time he hasn't allowed a single hit since back in March of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last seven times he's played.

In other batting news, Devin Kotara was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Mitchell Wall, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Logan kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Logan's win bumped their record up to 3-1.

Looking ahead, Logan will take on Mora in a tournament on Thursday. As for Non Varsity Opponent, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 6-3 victory against Northwest on the 31st.
