Softball Game Preview: Monroe Central Seminoles vs. River Pilots

For the first time this season, Monroe Central will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will head out to face off against the River Pilots at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Monroe Central will be strutting in after a victory while River will be coming in after a defeat.

On Saturday, Monroe Central made easy work of Shenandoah and carried off a 9-3 win. The victory continues a trend for the Seminoles in their matchups with the Zeps: they've now won three in a row.

Brylee McFredrick was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 4-for-4. Another player making a difference was Olivia Earley, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for River's offense. They came up short against Frontier on Friday, falling 14-0. The Pilots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

River's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Monroe Central, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Monroe Central took their win against River in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 12-2 score. Will the Seminoles repeat their success, or do the Pilots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
