Football Recap: Elbert County Takes a Tough Playoff Loss + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Elbert County can now relate to. They fell 17-12 to the Gordon Lee Trojans on Friday. The Blue Devils were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

Despite the loss, Elbert County still got an impressive performance from Jose Rodriguez, who picked up 117 receiving yards and one TD.

Gordon Lee can attribute much of their success to Landon Norton, who picked up 125 receiving yards and one score. Those 125 receiving yards gave Norton a new career-high.

Elbert County has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for Gordon Lee, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-1.

Elbert County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Gordon Lee, they will face off against Worth County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Rams' defense has only allowed 12.6 points per game this season, so the Trojans' offense will have their work cut out for them.
