Basketball Recap: Hampton Takes a Loss

Hampton was the 57-44 winner over McDonough when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Hampton Hornets came up short against the McDonough Warhawks on Saturday, falling 60-35. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Hornets have suffered against the Warhawks since December 9, 2022.

McDonough's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jadah Rembert, who posted 20 points. The matchup was Rembert's seventh in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Amira Carter, who earned 16 points.

Hampton's loss dropped their record down to 11-14. As for McDonough, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-16.

Hampton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for McDonough, they will face off against Woodland at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in McDonough's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games.
