When it comes to explaining why Newport lost on Wednesday, don't look at James Turner. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 25 points and 11 boards. With that strong performance, Turner is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. Amontae Lowe was another key player, going 6-for-13 on his way to 17 points.

Newport's defeat dropped their record down to 15-10. As for Conner, their record now sits at 16-7.
