Baseball Game Preview: Dysart Demons vs. Yuma Criminals

For the second straight game, Dysart will face off against Yuma. The Demons will face off against the Criminals at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Dysart has given up an average of 8.3 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Dysart's offense. They came up short against Yuma on Tuesday, falling 11-0. The Demons have struggled against the Criminals recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

For Yuma's part, Juan Ayala was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Ayala was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Eli Lujan, who went 2-for-3 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs. Those two triples gave him a new career-high. Jaime Ruelas was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Yuma has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Dysart, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.
