Basketball Recap: Spring Valley Continues Road Dominance on Tuesday

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Spring Valley ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They skirted past the St. Albans Red Dragons 62-60. That's more bragging rights for the Timberwolves , who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Defeat or not, St. Albans got some senior leadership from Samyah Riggan and Jaycee Elzy. Riggan shot 6-for-9 from long range and dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten boards, while Elzy almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds. The dominant performance gave Riggan a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Alayna Hermansdorfer, who posted six points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Spring Valley's win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.7 points per game. As for St. Albans, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-3 record this season.

Spring Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 70-37 victory against Capital on the 23rd. As for St. Albans, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 68-38 win against Woodrow Wilson on the 25th.
