Baseball Recap: Bradford Makes It Three in a Row on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Union City, Bradford was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They came out on top against the Hickman County Falcons by a score of 4-1. This was payback for the Red Devils, who suffered a 15-5 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Landon Hagan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Bradford saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dylan Brauer, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Bradford's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-10. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Hickman County, they moved to 9-11 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Coming up, Bradford will venture away from home to face off against Westview at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Chargers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.3 runs per game this season, so the Red Devils' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Hickman County, they will host Carlisle County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
