Baseball Game Preview: Collinsville Panthers vs. Oak Grove Tigers

Collinsville has won 16 straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Oak Grove has won 16 straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Wednesday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Collinsville Panthers duke it out with Oak Grove Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Collinsville is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.7 runs per game this season.

Collinsville gave up the first runs on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 7-4 win over Brewer.

Zach Clanton looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Gavin Lang was incredible, scoring a run and stealing three bases while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in February. Sylas Adams was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, while Oak Grove put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Fayetteville. Oak Grove put the hurt on Fayetteville with a sharp 12-0 victory. Considering the Tigers have won eight matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Jay Fuller, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Olen Bryant, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Collinsville is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.1 runs over those games. Oak Grove's victory bumped their record up to 17-1.
