Basketball Recap: IDEA Bluff Springs Comes Up Short

IDEA Bluff Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a blow against the Valor South Austin Falcons, falling 64-32. The Bats lost against the Falcons in their previous head to head back in February of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 45-35 score last time.

Valor South Austin found their leader in sophomore Joel Geroy, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten boards. The dominant performance also gave Geroy a new career-high in assists (four). Another player making a difference was Levin Dwelle, who posted eight points and six rebounds.

IDEA Bluff Springs' loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Valor South Austin, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-3.

IDEA Bluff Springs has already played their next game (against Harmony School Of Excellence-Austin), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Valor South Austin Falcons take on the Wayside: Sci-Tech Ravens at 5:30 p.m. on January 24th.
