Preview: Tennessee Christian Prep Hawks vs. Berean Academy Eagles
Tennessee Christian Prep has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Berean Academy Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Tennessee Christian Prep comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
Tennessee Christian Prep won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Thursday. They were dealt a 54-24 defeat at the hands of Dalton Academy.
Meanwhile, Berean Academy had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Saturday. They skirted past Sale Creek 67-64. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Berean Academy relied on the efforts of Daniel Wigginton, who scored 23 points, and Austen Harvey, who scored 29 points. It was the first time this season that Wigginton scored 15 or more points.
Tennessee Christian Prep's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Berean Academy, they pushed their record up to 17-1 with that victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.
Tennessee Christian Prep was dealt a bruising 62-20 defeat at the hands of Berean Academy when the teams last played on Monday. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Tennessee Christian Prep was down 32-11.
