Football Recap: Hoover Cardinals vs. Clairemont Chieftains
Hoover won the last time they faced Clairemont, and things went their way on Friday too. The Hoover Cardinals blew past the Clairemont Chieftains 33-7. The Cardinals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by 23 points or more this season.
Sir Autry was his usual excellent self, rushing for 209 yards and four touchdowns on only 15 carries, while also picking up 59 receiving yards. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his seventh straight game with at least 134 rushing yards dating back to last season. Hoover also got help from Miko Hunter, who showed off his sure hands for 89 receiving yards.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Hoover was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 211 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 162 rushing yards in four consecutive contests.
Hoover is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. As for Clairemont, they dropped their record down to 2-6 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.
