Recap: Jackson Vikings vs. Adrian Maples
The Jackson Vikings were the 70-63 winner over the Adrian Maples when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Jackson took a 69-64 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Maples. Jackson's defeat continues an unfortunate trend for the squad, making it three in a row.
Several Vikings players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sherquan Wilson, who scored 15 points. Darrion Weller was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Jackson has not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-6 record this season. As for Adrian, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jackson will take on the Grizzlies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Ypsilanti will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings (they are ranked 338th, while the Vikings are ranked 140th). As for Adrian, they will head out on the road to square off against the Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Tecumseh will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
