Recap: Concordia Fighting Orioles vs. Wellington-Napoleon Tigers
The Concordia Fighting Orioles pushed their score all the way to 60 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 65-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wellington-Napoleon. Concordia has not had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Trotter Hughes continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Wellington-Napoleon, scoring 24 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Hughes hasn't dropped below 18 points for four straight games. Haden Terrill was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds.
Concordia's loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Wellington-Napoleon, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-10 record this season.
Concordia's homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Greyhounds at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd. As for Wellington-Napoleon, they will head out on the road to challenge the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Missouri (Hardin-Central is ranked 355th, while the Tigers are ranked 341st).
