Basketball Recap: Whitewater Comes Up Short

Whitewater was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 56-16 loss at the hands of the Trinity Christian Lions. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 517th, while the Lions are ranked 140th).

Trinity Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Madison Bennett, who went 7 of 13 on her way to 16 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Elyse Norris, who posted 11 points in addition to five assists and five boards.

Whitewater's loss dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Trinity Christian, they pushed their record up to 10-6 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Whitewater will head out to take on Upson-Lee at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Trinity Christian, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Trinity Christian Lions face off against the Spalding Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
