Basketball Recap: Citrus Comes Up Short

Citrus had lost ten straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 0-3 to make it 11. They were beaten by the Crystal River Pirates 75-41. The Hurricanes were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-23.

Crystal River's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. They haven't had any issues with Citrus recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Victor Christmas had a dynamite game, dropping a double-double with 19 points and 20 boards. Those 20 rebounds gave him a new career-high. Colton Cooper was another key player, shooting 60% from the field en route to 14 points and eight boards.

Coincidentally, Citrus and Crystal River will both be playing Tavares the next time they take the court. The Pirates will host the Bulldogs at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Hurricanes will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on December 1.
